Alarms

  • On Saturday March 2, 2013, Westons Mills was dispatched for a structure fire on East Windfall Road at approx 1200 hours. Engine 54, Engine 53, Ladder 100, and EM 208 were responding within minutes of tone out. 2nd asst. Chief Rob Robinson got on location and reported smoke showing. Engine 54 arrived on scene and crews determined that it was a chimney fire. Ladder 100 was utilized and allowed firefighters to easily access the chimney from the exterior. Crew members from E-54 gained access via interior and the fire was contained to the chimney. Portville stood by at their station while Westons units were on scene. All units returned into service at approx 1500 hours. 
  • On Thursday February 28, 2013, Westons Mills assisted Shinglehouse, PA with a structure fire on Honeoye Street. Initially, we stood by at our station for Portville FD while they went to the scene. Shinglehouse Chief eventually called our tanker to the scene so Engine 53 and UT 263 responded to assist with the blaze under the command of 1st asst. Chief John Gerringer. When units arrived on scene, the fire had been extinguished so E-53 was not needed. However the manpower was still utilized for overhaul purposes. All Westons units returned back into service at approx. 1900 hours.
  • On Thursday February 7, 2013, Westons Mills stood by for Hinsdale while they assisted Lyndon with a working structure fire. WMFD was disptched at approx. 0700 hours to standby at our station for Hinsdale while they went to the scene. Hinsdale remained on scene at the fire until approx. 1200 hours and WMFD was released just after.
  • On Thursday February 7, 2013, Westons Mills assisted Allegany with a working structure fire on Four Mile Road. Allegany was dispatched at approx. 0113 hours and received word that the house was on fire. Allegany Chief responded to the scene and immediately requested tankers from Westons Mills and Knapp Creek to the scene. WMFD responded with Engine 53 and EM-208 all under command of 1st asst. Chief John Gerringer. Manpower that responded with the ambulance assisted with extinguishing the fire. Hinsdale, Portville, Town of Olean, Limestone, Killbuck, and the District 4 FAST Team also were all utilized at the scene. All Westons units returned to service at approx. 0600 hours.
  • On Wednesday January 24, 2013, Westons Mills assisted Portville with a working structure fire on Lillibridge road. Portville was dispatched at approx. 0830 hours and received word the house was on fire. Portville Chief 2 requested an Engine, Tanker and manpower from Westons Mills to the scene. WMFD respoded with Engine 55, Engine 53 and EM-208 all under the command of Chief Will Smith. Engine 53 dumped water into the portable pond while the engine crew assisted with extinguishing the fire. EM-208 stood by at the fire scene. Allegany, Hinsdale, Town of Olean and the District 4 FAST team were also called to the scene and utilized. The fire was quickly extinguished and all Westons Mills units returned to service at approx. 1200 hours.
  • On Saturday January 19, 2013, Westons Mills assisted Hinsdale with a working trailer fire. Hinsdale was dispatched at approx 0100 hours and recieved word of a possible explosion. Hinsdale Chief 1 got on location and requested a tanker from Westons Mills to the scene. WMFD responded with Engine 55 and UT 263 under command of Chief Will Smith. Engine 53 pumped water into Hinsdale's pumper while the manpower on UT 263 assisted with putting out the fire. The blaze was extinguished and all Westons returned into service at approx. 0500 hours.
